In digging around the net for possible avenues to pursue in getting this situation resolved, I came across HaroldSays. Very interesting. Although I hadn't heard of Harold, he seems to be an active consumer advocate, so I contacted him.
He replied quickly, suggested I also post at http://www.complaints.com, and is reaching out to his contact at Comcast. I provided my full contact information for a response.
